The first human cryopreservation in China (The first in Asia)

The on-site technical exchange meeting between Shandong Yinfeng Life Science Research Institute and the Department of Orthopaedics, Qilu Hospital of Shandong University was successfully held.

In the afternoon of March 8, Jia Chunsheng, vice president of Shandong Yinfeng Life Science Research Institute (our foundation research unit), Liu Zhicheng, general manager of Yinfengda Health Technology Service Co., Ltd., and Zang Chuanbao, director of Cryogenic Medical Research Center, were invited to attend the hospital-enterprise cooperation meeting held by the Orthopaedics Department of Qilu Hospital of Shandong University. Liu Xinyu, executive deputy director of orthopaedics and director of spinal surgery in Qilu Hospital of Shandong University, Zhu Lei, deputy director of orthopaedics and director of hand and foot surgery, Cheng Lei, deputy director of spinal surgery, Xu Qingjia, deputy director of hand and foot surgery, and more than 30 professional doctors and technical experts of orthopaedics participated in the meeting.


At the meeting, the participating experts listened to the research progress of our hospital in the development of tissue engineering materials and medical devices, and discussed the cooperation intention in the orthopedic application direction of our research products, as well as the repair of articular cartilage. Spinal fusion repair and other directions conducted in-depth exchanges. Professor Sun Wenquan of Shanghai University of Science and Technology, a cooperative expert of our institute, specially attended this exchange meeting.


The R & D team of Yinfeng Cryogenic Medical Research Center has developed multi-form engineering materials using donated and clinically abandoned tissues, which can be widely used in the filling and repair of many kinds of tissue defects. The team of orthopaedic experts in Qilu Hospital showed great interest in the relevant research in our hospital and reached the intention of further clinical cooperation.

According to incomplete statistics, there are 50-6 million patients with bone defects every year in China. However, the actual use of bone defect repair materials for orthopedic surgery in China is only about 1.33 million cases per year, and the clinical demand for bone defect repair materials is strong. And there is a huge gap in clinical demand to be filled. We hope that the products under research in our hospital can be transformed and applied to the clinic as soon as possible to provide more high-quality technical products and services for orthopedic patients.
