  On the morning of October 17, 2020, the 12th National Academic Annual Conference on Low Temperature Biomedical and Equipment was grandly held in Jinan, Quanzhou. The conference was themed "Low Temperature Helps Healthy China" and lasted for two days. More than 100 low-temperature biomedical experts from across the country attended the conference.

  Wang Chao, Secretary General of the Small Refrigerator Low Temperature Biomedical Professional Committee of the China Refrigeration Society, Liu Baolin, Dean of the School of Medical Devices and Food at Shanghai University of Technology, Deputy Director of the Modern Minimally Invasive Medical Devices and Technology Engineering Research Center of the Ministry of Education, Deputy Director of the Small Refrigerator Low Temperature Biomedical Professional Committee of the China Refrigeration Society, and Leader of the Low Temperature Biology Group of the Biological Sample Bank Branch of the China Medical Biotechnology Association, More than 20 well-known experts in the field of low-temperature biomedical medicine from China, including Bi Yanwen, Chief Physician of Cardiovascular Surgery at Qilu Hospital of Shandong University and Chairman of Shandong Provincial Association of Low Temperature Medicine, Wei Qiang, Deputy Director of Laboratory Management Department of China Center for Disease Control and Prevention, and Director of National Pathogenic Microbial Resource Bank, were invited to attend the conference.

It is one of the most rapidly developing disciplines in the field of life sciences in recent years.   Director Bi Yanwen said in his speech that although low-temperature biomedical science is a niche discipline, it is very important. Many clinical works cannot be carried out without the support of low-temperature biomedical research, such as heart transplantation, low-temperature preservation of heart valves and other organs. He called for a closer integration between low temperature and medicine, so that low temperature technology can truly serve clinical and patient needs, and better assist healthy China.
